When unarmed and out in the open, capitulation might be employed to draw in an armed shooter who has already fired upon you and/or is most likely intent upon doing so from a threateningly close range. Question then is, although quite situationally determined, what capitulation technique(s) to consider. ??

Under his definition, there’s actually no such thing as “social violence”. The moment you can’t talk yourself out of it, then by his definition it’s no longer social violence but now it’s into the territory of anti-social violence.

I know it’s believed that avoidance is the easiest thing you can do to be safe but there are times that, for instance where you’re in a city that you’re not that familiar with (I travel a lot as a pilot) and as a result you park in a place that seems reasonably safe while the sun is up to go to that restaurant or pub and when you come out, it’s dark and sketchy and you had no idea that it turned into Zombie land after dark.

Maybe the "loser" who lost to a military or martial arts trained guy is humiliated and comes back later with the gun he has in his truck.

@Tim, I wouldn't call whistler the idiot. The coach initiated the violence over something he found offensive. Several sayings come to mind: 1) If you're offended but not harmed, look away 2) If you call someone out in public, THAT is a personal attack 3) In many circles, verbal violence equates to physical violence due to socioeconomic stress. Eg, you let some wuss own you so you're weak and ripe for the picking 4) If you aren't actively deescalating, you're probably provoking 5) Princess syndrome. I signed up for one year with PROT3CT and could never use it as my password was constantly refused no matter what I tried. So I looked for your office but found nothing but PO Box Office. So I guess I am out for/of one years money. No big deal when I was working but now on SS , inflation and etc things are a little different. I did however sign up for September 14 class and hopefully don’t end up getting the same issues.

I have been to a live training - which I highly recommend - this drill we performed over and over. To this day it is still in muscle memory.
